A 74-year-old former private school teacher in Monroe County, Wisconsin, is facing 600 years behind bars after she repeatedly sexually abusing a 14-year-old male student.
The former teacher identified as Anne N. Nelson-Koch was convicted on 25 counts linked to the attacks which took place in the 2016-2017 school year.
According to DailyMail report, it was revealed that Nelson-Koch, then aged 67, would take the 14-year-old boy to the basement of his school to sexually abuse him.
In light of Nelson-Koch’s conviction, prosecutors requested that she be immediately detained prior to her sentencing on October 27.
However, Judge Richard Radcliffe instead granted bail with a GPS monitor, ensuring that she remains under supervision until the sentencing hearing.
Monroe County District Attorney Kevin Croninger said she faces a sentence of up to six centuries behind bars.
The Assistant District Attorney, Sarah Skiles, praised the victim’s courage in coming forward and bringing Nelson-Koch to justice.
“He spoke the truth, and the jury heard him loud and clear. We are so grateful to the jury for their dedication to finding the truth.”
Skiles also praised Paul Sloan of the Tomah Police Department, who led the investigation.
