The controversy of who is the Medical Director of the National orthopedic hospital in Benin , Edo state has been finally laid to rest with the confirmation of appointment of Dr Philip Ibukun Ugbodaga by the federal government.
Truth Live News reports that, Dr Ugbodaga and Prof Alfred Ogbemudia were both presented letters of appointment as the medical director of the newly established orthopedic hospital in the state by the then minister of health and the junior minister in the ministry while Dr. Philip Ugbodaga received his letter of appointment from the minister of state for Health, Joseph Ekamanamam.
The then minister of health, Dr Ehanire at another ceremony presented a letter of appointment to Prof. Alfred Ogbemudia to the same office, same position.
Dr Ugbodaga’s confirmation of appointment was disclosed in a letter signed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume.
The letter was directed to the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Health, Abuja.
Dr Ugbodaga was appointed along with 12 other CMD and MDs of Teaching Hospital, Federal Medical Centres and Neuropsychiatric Hospitals.
Ugbodaga was the Special Assistant to the immediate past Minister of Budget and National Planning, Clem Agba.
