The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Dr Betta Edu, said that the government would soon unveil a new fund to help lift 133 million Nigerians out of poverty.
This new fund, called the Humanitarian Fund, is aimed at providing financial assistance and support to those who are living in poverty in Nigeria.
She disclosed this during a Channels Television interview on Friday.
Earlier this week, Edu stated that the government would lift 133 million Nigerians out of poverty.
When asked about the strategy to achieve this target, she explained the plan to unveil humanitarian funds.
She emphasized that the government would be transparent and sincere with Nigerians regarding its plans and agenda.
“Presently, we are working on fully detailing the action plan. The agenda has been set by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu already.
“From a humanitarian trust fund, there will be mobilization funds across the board. The federal government, private sector and international organization. It will be unveiled soon.
“We will be very transparent to Nigerians; the target is to lift 133 million Nigerians by 2030,” she said.
