A first-class Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) graduate is said to have committed suicide after failing to find job.

Michael Kibet is alleged to have killed himself in his brother’s compound in Lessos after becoming discouraged about his inability to find job despite his efforts years after graduating.

Following the discovery of his body, his family in Kenya’s Kapsongoro hamlet in the Nandi County town of Chepsangor was plunged into mourning.

The Juja-based college awarded the 26-year-old a First Class honors degree in ICT and Telecommunication in 2021.

Kibet, a bright young guy, also earned a diploma with all As from Tinderet Nandi’s Meteitei Boys High School.

The tragedy was reported on Wednesday, June 7, by Area Chief David Rugut, who stated that the dead had hanged himself in his brother’s compound.

The chief said;

“We are really saddened by the loss of Michael. He was a hardworking and disciplined boy in our location. He ended his life out of frustration according to his brother.

“The locals were really shocked by his demise. Many didn’t believe as he has been a very humble boy and very responsible.”
