Ben Nwoye, former chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Enugu State, has resigned from the party, citing deviation from its core values.
Nwoye, who served two tenures as chairman, announced his resignation at a press briefing, stating that the party’s leadership in Enugu State has disintegrated.
The party’s zonal leadership in the South East has lost direction and is engaged in vindictive politics, Nwoye claimed.
Nwoye further alleged that the national leadership of the party is maintaining willful blindness, allowing warring factions to self-destruct and strangulate the party in Enugu State.
He expressed disappointment that loyal party members calling for unity are treated like conquered warriors and placed in political captivity.
Nwoye cited similar situations in other southeastern states, such as Anambra, Abia, Ebonyi, and Imo, where prominent APC members have been sidelined.
He concluded that it’s time to move on and discover a new frontier, without revealing his next political move.
