OGOJA: Sunnyvale Wellness Foundation is tackling community health issues as it performed groundbreaking to build hospital in Ogoja LGA.

The groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a Medical Facility at Egbe Mbube, Community, Northern Senatorial District of Cross River state brought together Government functionalist, community stakeholders and well-wishers.

As part of humanitarian and philanthropic gesture to support the community, the initiative is to provide free and affordable healthcare services to those in need.

The foundation’s success highlights the potential for effective solutions to complex health issue, such as free surgeries of different kinds and optical treatment at no cost.

The community’s stakeholders including the Paramount Ruler of Ogoja Oti Mathias Odey Abua, are overwhelmed, and are calling for more humanitarian services to address the health issue in the area.

Oti Abua extolled SUNNYVALE WELLNESS FOUNDATION for its humanitarian services rendering to the less privileged and the indigents in the society.

He said for the past six months, the foundation has provided medical relief to thousands of the sick ranging from surgeries of different kinds, and optical treatment etc.

The Royal father who attended the occasion along with all 13 clan heads of Mbube, amidst their new yam festival assured that he will be part of the commissioning of the Hospital when completed and thanked the community for donating land for the purpose.

Performing the Groundbreaking, the patriarchs, Sir Emmanuel Abang blessed the land and asked for God’s hand in the project.

“My ability to witness my offspring doing the corporal works of charity such as medical outreaches and the construction of the medical facility was a sign of good tidings,” Abang said.

The Chief Operating Officer of the Foundation in Nigeria, Barr Egem Patrick Okem, highlighted Dr. Anuli Mkparu, the CEO of Sunnyvale Wellness Foundation’s contributions and achievements.

“The project will be completed according to it specification,” Barr Okem assured. And enjoined the communities of Mbube, Ogoja LGA and it environs to take advantage of the free medical outreach.

Also speaking, An Elder Statesman and a Patriarch of the Okem Dynasty, Chief Patrick C. Okem appreciated the elders and family patriarchs who prayed for the success of the facility.

Meanwhile, the CEO of Sunnyvale Wellness Foundation, an American-based Medical Doctor and daughter of Ogoja LGA Dr. Anuli Mkparu, said she took a significant step to give back to humanity.

Represented by the former Special Adviser Non-governmental Organizations Hon. Sonnie Okem said Dr. Mkparu’s numerous medical outreaches, have benefited many, including traditional rulers.

Moreover, ” the new medical facility would serve both Mbube and Ogoja at large,” he explained.

He therefore, thanked parents of Dr Mkparu’s for nurturing her in a good and God-fearing manner.
