Following the rise in the price of gasoline, Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Co. Limited has unveiled mass-produced versions of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses.
The CNG vehicles were displayed at the company’s Nnewi, Anambra State, factory.
During the unveiling, Dr. Innocent Chukwuma, Chief Executive Officer of IVM, assured Nigerians of the safety of CNG vehicles and the availability of various types of cars, ABN report.
He explained that the company manufacture vehicles base on it demand at a particular time, noting that the CNG vehicles is what is needed at this time that the country is facing petrol subsidy removal.
He said,” We manufacture according to demand, and we manufactured these buses because there is demand for them now.
“During the covid-19 pandemic, we produced more ambulances, so we are on the ground and ready to produce CNG vehicles bring a solution to total dependence on one or two kinds of vehicles.
“The CNG vehicles are a solution, that’s why we produce them. We made space for CNG, LNG and fuel so that anyone available in an area can be used to drive vehicles. Electric cars, Biogas and solar-powered vehicles are also produced in this factory.”
Also, the Governor of Anambra State, represented by the Commissioner for Industry, Anambra State, Mr. Christian Udechukwu, stated that the state is preparing to address the challenges that Nigerians face as a result of the removal of subsidies.
