Gov. Eno Describes Late Military Governor Of A’Ibom As Selfless, Passionate

The Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, PhD, has said that the State has experienced exponential growth across all sectors including blessed and selfless leaders.

Governor Eno, stated this in a condolence message to the family of late former military Governor of Akwa Ibom state Major General Godwin Osagie Abbe (Rtd).

Godwin Osagie Abbe who died on December 2, 2024 was born on January 10, 1949 and served as Defence Minister of Nigeria from 2009 to 2010.

Also, he had served as the Nigerian Minister of Interior from 2007 to 2009 and as a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Chief Press Secretary Ekerete Udoh, on a social media post, said the late former Military Governor helped lay the foundation of an ascendant Akwa Ibom State.

“Our State has experienced exponential growth across all sectors and continues to be blessed with leaders who, like he was, were selfless, passionate and committed to making Akwa Ibom, a model of peace and development,” he said.

He noted that “Today, because he interpreted those ideals perfectly, we are dedicated to continuing and expanding.”

Moreover, “We offer our deepest condolences to the family, the Nigerian Armed Forces and the people and Government of Edo State on the sad and painful passing of this gallant and patriotic Nigerian military tactican and statesman.”

Truth Live News gathered that Pastor Eno prayed that “May his soul rest in peace.”

Meanwhile, “We will work with the family and the Nigerian Army to ensure that he gets a befitting funeral,” he assured.
