Gov. Eno Urges Akpabio To Help Develop Ibom Deep Sea Port

Governor Umo Bassey Eno of Akwa Ibom state has urged the Nigeria Senate president Sen. Godswill Obot Akpabio to help in the development of the Ibom Deep Sea Port Project.

Other projects he begs for Federal Government support include Palm Oil Processing initiative, Modern Mills and Refining Facilities, and a petroleum depot in Akwa Ibom State.

Chief Press Secretary to the Governor Ekerete Udoh made this known weekend in a Facebook post.

He said the Governor made the call on Friday during a courtesy visit by the Senate President and at the State Banquet organized in honor of Akpabio and other visiting Senators at Government House, Uyo.

Therefore, the governor stated “We urge you to help us get the Federal Government to partner with the State in the development of the Ibom Deep Sea Port Project.”

“We want you to work with us to realize our Palm Oil Processing initiative by partnering to develop Modern Mills and Refining Facilities.”

“We also need a petroleum depot in the State to reduce the suffering of our people in getting products.”

“As a government, we will continue to partner with you and President Tinubu,” Eno assured.

Also, he said the development of the seaport will be an economic catalyst for Nigeria in the Gulf of Guinea.

According to Udoh, Ibom deep seaport has the deepest water draught in Nigeria.

Governor Eno also thanked President Bola Tinubu and the Senators for making Sen. Akpabio the President of the 10th Senate.

While describing Akpabio as the “beacon of light” he said he is their joy and their pride.

Meanwhile, on his part, Sen. Akpabio appreciated the Governor Eno.

He said he has been uniting the State across political divides.

He described him as a man of peace and an Apostle and disciple of peace.

Thus he said: “Akwa Ibom is a very easy state to rule and govern but also a very difficult place to unite.”

“It is a major duty bestowed on you by God to unite the whole state.”

Therefore, ” Let your actions speak unity to the state,” Akpabio urged.

He recalled that as a governor, he united the state by appointing people into key positions without considering which tribe they came from.
