In a bid to reaffirm his unwavering commitment to workers’ welfare, Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has approved the dates for the payment of the much-anticipated 13th month salary.

The announcement came through Hon. Chris Nehikhare, the Commissioner for Communication and Orientation, who emphasized the governor’s consistent dedication to enhancing working conditions. Governor Obaseki’s pledge to prioritize the well-being of the state’s workforce has been evident over the past seven years.

According to Nehikhare, the December salary is scheduled to be disbursed on December 11th, providing timely financial relief for workers ahead of the festive season. Following closely, the 13th month salary will be paid on December 27th, reinforcing the governor’s commitment to fulfilling promises made to the workforce.

In a statement made available to Truth Live News, Governor Obaseki’s administration has not only maintained timely salary payments, with no defaults recorded, but has also ensured regular promotions, with the latest batch occurring in January 2023. The positive momentum extends to the working environment, spanning six hubs across the state, fostering a conducive atmosphere for productivity.

A notable aspect of the governor’s commitment is the enrollment of workers in the Contributory Pension Scheme, guaranteeing additional benefits such as Life Insurance. This holistic approach underscores the administration’s dedication to creating an environment where workers not only receive their due compensations promptly but also enjoy comprehensive welfare packages.

Against the backdrop of some other states owing salaries, the 13th month salary becomes a reality in Edo state. This serves as a morale booster to workers and gives them more impetus for work even harder.
