Two Clan Heads in Akpabuyo LGA, Southern Senatorial District of Cross River State have been suspended for insubordination.
They are Clan head of Atimbo HRH, Etinyin Ekpenyong Ekpo Asuquo and Clan head of Akansoko HRH, Etinyin Archibong Ita Le’Nelson.
Chief Press Secretary to Governor Otu, Comrade Nsa Gill in a release shared in social media on Sunday April 21, 2024, highlighted reasons for their suspension.
For instance, it said the duo vehemently countered the directive of the Governor aimed at maintaining peace and orderliness in the leadership position of Akpabuyo traditional rulers council.
As a result, the so mentioned names of Clan Heads are hereby debars from office indefinitely.
Moreso, they are not expected to parade themselves in any form as Clan Heads until further notice.
Accordingly, this suspension takes immediate effect.
Meanwhile, in their stead, acting Clan Heads will be announced by the Governor.
This came barely four days after the Governor announced the appointment of acting Paramount ruler for the area.
Recall that on April 18, Truth Live News reported the appointment of acting Paramount ruler for Akpabuyo LGA. HRH, Etinyin Francis Effiom Edem Efa.
Until his appointment, as chairman of Akpabuyo traditional rulers council he is the Clan head of Esuk Mba Clan.
