The Katsina State Government under the leadership of Governor Dikko Umaru Radda, has allocated a temporary site to serve as Take-off campus for the newly established Federal University of Health Sciences, Funtua
In a press statement made available on Monday by the Senior Special Adviser to the Governor on Digital Media Isah Miqdad, Governor Radda made the revelation during a visit to the office of the Honorable Minister for Education, Professor Tahir Mamman earlier in Abuja.
Radda disclosed that the Katsina State Government had since allocated Funtua Technical College as temporary Take-off for the university to commence academic activities.
Governor Radda assured the Minister that his government will continue to provide adequate support to the ministry of education and the university in ensuring enabling working environment. Also, the governor tasked the host community on need to give its maximum support for the university to succeed in commencing academic activities.
In his remark, the Honourable Minister for Education, Professor Tahir Mamman expressed gratitude to Governor Dikko Radda for his resilience and unwavering support towards the management of the University as well as the ministry of education which paved ways for the establishment of the University in Funtua, Katsina.
On his part, Senator representing Senator representing Katsina South Senatorial District, Senator Muntari Dandutse disclosed that funds require to kick-start the university has been adequately captured by the 2024 Budget. He assured that the Senate Chamber is ever ready to support the university when such needs arise.
Also in the visitation team are; the university Vice Chancellor, Professor BB Shehu, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon. Jabiru Tsauri, and Alh. Shamsu Sule Funtua.
