Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has strongly condemned the killing of a seminarian and the burning of a Catholic church by bandits in Zangon Kataf Local Government Area.
The incident occurred on Thursday night when the bandits set fire to the Saint Raphael Catholic Church residence, killing a seminarian named Stephen Danlami.
Reacting to the incident, Governor Sani in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Mohammed Shehu, vowed to bring the perpetrators to justice and ensure that they are held accountable for their heinous crimes.
He stated that the attack was a clear attempt to sow division and distrust among the people of Kaduna, and undermine the government’s efforts to promote peace and reconciliation.
“I am deeply saddened by the attack on Fadan Kamatan Parish, Zangon Kataf. This act of violence against innocent worshipers is not only an attack on the Catholic community, but an attempt to set our people against each other. We will not tolerate such acts of brutality and will go to any length within the law to bring the attackers to book.”
He then urged security agencies to swiftly investigate the incident and ensure that the culprits are arrested and made to face the full wrath of the law.
He also expressed his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and assured them of the state government’s support during this difficult time.
