As the state approaches its local government elections, Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has charged members of the newly inaugurated Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) to uphold fairness and transparency in the discharge of their duties.
He gave the charge during the swearing-in ceremony of the LASIEC Chairman, Justice Bola Okikiolu Ighile (Rtd).
Governor Sanwo-Olu hinted on the importance of maintaining the integrity of democracy by conducting free, fair, and credible polls.
He urged the commission to work closely with all political stakeholders, including opposition parties, to ensure a transparent electoral process.
