Benin City, Edo State

Senator Monday Okpebholo, the governor-elect of Edo State, has committed himself to being a servant to all the people of the state, regardless of their political affiliations. Speaking after a meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Okpebholo emphasized his readiness to work with anyone who brings forward ideas that benefit the people of Edo.

Truth Live News gathered that, Okpebholo, who was declared the winner of the recent gubernatorial election amidst allegations of irregularities, pledged to prioritize development in Edo State. He highlighted key areas of focus, such as employing more teachers, renovating schools, and ensuring general progress for the people.

He stated: ā€œFor me, Iā€™m coming as a servant to serve the Edo people. That is what is required of me, and that is what exactly Iā€™m going to do.

ā€œSo, very soon, you will see a lot of development coming up in Edo. We are going to employ teachers. We are going to renovate our schoolsā€¦a lot will be happening over time. So, with time, you recognize that a new dawn has happened.ā€

Asked if he would bring everyone on board his administration, he said: ā€œIf they have an idea that is beautiful, that is acceptable by the people, then why not? My door is open to everybody.ā£ā€

In light of the election outcome, which may have been surprising or disappointing to some, Okpebholo’s message is one of inclusiveness and unity. He reassured all Edo citizens that his administration would be open to contributions from any group or individual with constructive ideas that serve the common good. His goal, he said, is to usher in a “new dawn” of progress and development for Edo State.
