The G5 Governors, popularly known as the integrity group which includes, Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State and Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State have arrived Port Harcourt, Rivers State Capital.
The aggrieved Governors of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) led by Governor Wike arrived Port Hacourt on Friday, December 30th from London.
The Governors have demanded the resignation of the PDP National Chairman, Senator Iyorchia Ayu as a condition for reconciliation.
The Governors refused to support the Party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar until Ayu resigned as the Party’s National chairman.
On Wednesday, the governors had jetted to the United Kingdom over what may have been described as a strategic meeting. This followed the uncertainty surrounding the choice of their preferred presidential candidate for the 2023 election.
