Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, on Saturday, welcomed 50 new members into the All Progressives Congress (APC) at Murtala Square, assuring them of equal rights and privileges within the party.
Among the high-profile defectors are former Kaduna Central Senator Shehu Sani, ex-Governor Muktar Yero, former NNPP governorship candidate Senator Suleiman Hunkuyi, and former PDP Senator Danjuma Laah. Other notable figures include Sani Shaaban, a former ADP governorship candidate; Abubakar Mustapha, once the National Organising Secretary of the PDP; and Ambassador Sule Buba, previously Nigeria’s envoy to South Korea.
Truth Live News reports that, speaking to an enthusiastic crowd of party supporters, Governor Sani emphasized the principle of equality within the APC ranks. “Someone who joins APC today and one who has been a foundation member 10 years ago are of the same status. They will enjoy the same rights and privileges,” he declared.
The governor encouraged the new members to spread the word about APC’s welcoming stance, noting that the party’s doors are open to all. He attributed the party’s increasing popularity to effective leadership at both state and federal levels, confidently predicting a sweeping victory for APC in the 2027 elections.
“In the 2027 elections, Nigerians will vote APC in all positions, from top to bottom. At the top, our leader, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, will be re-elected. At the state level, APC will win the governorship, National Assembly, and State Assembly elections by the grace of God,” Governor Sani stated.
He also committed to equitable governance, stating, “Politics is different from governance. We will be fair to all, whether or not they voted for us, because that is the oath of office we swore to uphold.”
Governor Sani concluded his address by reminding political leaders of their dual accountability to the people and to God, calling on them to govern with fairness and justice.
