The strike declared by the Nigerian Labour Congress has kicked off in Ebonyi State with Government offices and banks shuts.
The offices and banks were shut in solidarity with the two-day nationwide strike declared by the Nigeria Labour Congress.
According to Nation, Truthlive news learnt that at Abakaliki, Ebonyi State capital, the closure of banks had left customers stranded.
With some customers resorting to use ATMs, while others frustrated by their inability to complete other banking-related tasks.
Also, the state Headquarters of the Judiciary opposite Old Government House was under lock as Lawyers and Judges stayed away and the Ochudo Secretariat was also deserted, no one was there.
Speaking to reporters, the state chairman of NLC, Ogugua Egwu, described the compliance as total, impressive and satisfactory.
Egwa said, “All Offices are locked from Judiciary to UBEB to Secretariat. I am glad and impressed that our people are begining to see the need for them to make their voices heard.”
