Grassroots Football: Alade, Four Others Win Edo Central LGA Football Association Elections

A veteran grassroots football mobiliser and promoter, Comrade Ehiaghina Friday, also known as Alade and Chuku- Chuku Obiora, has been elected as the chairman of Esan North-East Football Association in an election held on Wednesday in Ekpoma, the administrative headquarters of Esan West LGA.

In the same vein, Oviasuyi Emmanuel emerged winner of the Esan South East contest, while James Osebomen Aka, Makanaki, Aifuwa Omoba, and Akowe Maxwell were elected chairmen of Esan West, Esan Central and Igueben LGAs Football Associations same day.

The five elected LGA chairmen will join other Edo State football stakeholders on the 29th of August in Benin city to elect the state FA chairman and other board members of the state Football association.

While speaking to Truth Live Correspondent after the election in Ekpoma, Alade dedicated the victory to God, and promised to ensure that all the footballers and stakeholders of the round leather game in Uromi and Uzea and brought together to chart a way forward for the development of football in the LGA.

He also appreciated a former Vice Chairman of the FA and Chairman/CEO of Truth Live Media Communications LTD, publishes of Truth Live News, Deacon Darlington Okpebholo Ray, for his support and contributions to the development of the game in Esan land in particular and Edo state in general.

Alade said: “I’m so happy today, I give glory to God almighty for this victory, I will make sure we all work together to move the game forward in Uromi and Uzea. I also thank my chairman, Ray Okpebholo for his support and I call on all those who didn’t vote for me to come with me and let’s take the game to the top in our LGA.”
