The Guinness World Records has reacted inquiries on why it has failed to acknowledge the record breaking cooking success of Nigerian chef, Hilda Baci.
Many Nigerians who expected a swift response by the Guinness World Records to the epic achievement by Baci expressed disappointment that it kept mum hours after the cooking was concluded.
A Twitter user, Alexander asked in a tweet ; “Why is Guinness World Records not showing or talking about Hilda’s cook-a-thon? Can’t see anything on their pages (Twitter, Facebook, YouTube).”
Reacting to the inquiry, the Guinness World Records on their official Twitter handle @GRR replied: “We’re aware of this amazing record attempt, we need to review all the evidence first before officially confirming a record.”
Baci after hitting her initial 96-hour target headed to achieving a 100-hour record time.
The current record for the world’s longest cooking marathon is held by Lata Tondon, who completed the task in 87 hours, 45 minutes, and 00 seconds in Rewa, India, in 2019.
However, not satisfied with the GWR’s response another tweep questioned, Which evidence are you reviewing? eeh?
Can’t you see the hours is boldly showing 88hrs plus? Or you want us to cook you for 96hrs?
Several others called for patience to enable them (GWR) do their findings.
