President Bola Tinubu, on Wednesday, urged Nigerians to remain patient amidst the current economic challenges, assuring them that the nation will overcome its difficulties.
Tinubu, aknowledging the hardships caused by government policies, Tinubu expressed his willingness to accept criticism, being the one who sought the presidency.
Speaking during a visit to Afenifere leader Pa Reuben Fasoranti in Akure, and during a condolence visit to the family of late former Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, Tinubu addressed concerns regarding economic reforms he initiated, including fuel subsidy removal.
He reassured Nigerians of Nigeria’s resilience, stating, “Nigeria will survive the current economic challenges. There is light at the end of the tunnel. I requested the job, and I am not complaining about it. I take full responsibility.”
While saying the hardships remain temporal, Tinubu urged perseverance, citing Lagos’s emergence as Africa’s fifth-largest economy despite challenges.
He affirmed his determination to reform Nigeria’s economy, curb exploitation, and prioritize national interests over personal gain.
