The deplorable condition of the federal highways connecting Auchi, Ewu, and Benin has been brought to the notice of the federal government by the member representing Esan North East/Esan South East constituency at the House of Representatives, Hon. Prince Henry Odianosen Okojie.
At today’s House of Representatives plenary, the legislator made the decision where he;
* Urge the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing, and Federal Emergency Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA) to embark on immediate palliative repairs on the failed portions to ease off traffic on the routes;
* Also urge the Federal Ministry of Works to allocate sufficient funds for the completion of works on both routes in the 2024 Budget Estimates.
* Mandate the Committee on Works (when constituted) to ensure compliance and report back to the House in four (4) weeks for further legislative actions.
