The Western Boys High School Mini Stadium, Ikpoba Hill Benin City, was agog today as the second round of matches of the maiden Edition of the Edo state Head of service cup 2023 begins.
The first match of the day which started by 2 p.m saw ministry of Health progress to the next round of the tournament following a 1-0 over the Government house team, the only goal of the match was scored by Terry Ogiemudia from the Penalty spot in the 50th minutes to seal their passage to the quarter final.
The second game of the day ended 5-0 in favour of the ministry of Agriculture and food security over Procurement Angency.
Led by the Permanent secretary of the ministry Dr Peters Osagie, the ministry of Agriculture and food security prove too strong for the procurement Agency side led by the Coo, Mr Henry Itonju as they qualify for the Quarter finals of the tournament.
According to the fixtures, The ministry of Health will do battle against the ministry of Agriculture and food security in the first quarter final match on Monday November 28th 2023 by 2pm for a place in the last four.
Meanwhile, second round matches of the tournament continue tomorrow at Western boys high school mini stadium, Ikpoba hill Benin city with EdOGis taking on Edo state Public building and maintenance Agency by 2pm, while Subeb will square up against ICTA by 4pm.
It would be recalled that the HOS cup for civil and Public servants in Edo state was donated by united kingdom based Media Practitioner and chief executive officer of Truth Live Media Communication Ltd, Publishers of Truth Live News , Deacon Darlington Ray Okpebholo.
The maiden Edition of the Edo state Head of service cup will climax 10th December 2023 at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin city.
