Ex Super Eagle’s player and legend, Kanu Nwankwo, has stated that he never endorsed Bola Tinubu, All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential candidate, as against a video of him posted by Sam Omatseye, columnist and media hitman of the politician and also believed to be of extremist anti Igbo views from many of his writings.
Omatseye, on his Twitter handle, had posted an old video of the soccer legend praising Tinubu for his assistance in setting up a foundation that catered for patients with heart defects.
The columnist had also infused in the writing on twitter which locked out unwanted comments and responses, unverified quotes from the ex player, stating that other prominent Igbo people including Labour Party, LP, Presidential Candidate, Peter Obi, fellow Igbo man like Kanu, chose not to help him.
But in a new video on his handle on same micro blogging app with his handle, @papilokanu, the former national soccer team captain said that he never endorsed anybody.
“I am just a footballer and not a politician,” he said in the video he posted alongside a written text.
“Do what is right and vote. Kindly stop spreading fake news in my name that I ask you to vote for anyone.
“I am not the one to choose who you will vote for so stop this rubbish with my name and go and get your PVC and vote,” he said.
