The biological mother of Angelina Jolie’s adopted daughter Zahara, Mentewab Dawit Lebiso, is making a heartfelt plea to reconnect with her child.
In 2005, she had to give up Zahara when she was a baby due to tragic circumstances, as she was a victim of assault and fell seriously ill.
Mentewab emphasized that her intention is not to take custody of Zahara but to become a part of her life.
She told daily mail that she longs for the chance to talk to her daughter and let her know that she is alive and cares deeply for her, according to cgnewslite report.
Zahara, who is one of the three children adopted by the famous Hollywood stars, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, joined their family when she was just six months old. These was before the couple separated.
Mentewab acknowledges that Zahara has been well cared for by the famous Hollywood star but expresses how much she misses her daughter.
“I think about her every day and long to hear her voice or see her face,” she told The Mail.
“I know when she has a birthday but I am sad because I can’t celebrate it with her. I would so much want to celebrate with her on her birthday and other special days. I long to be able to have regular contact with her.
“I would like Zahara to know she has a mother who loves her as much as Angelina.”
Mentewab, who has had no contact with Zahara since the adoption, hopes to introduce her daughter to her biological family in Ethiopia before it’s too late.
She believes that it’s essential for Zahara to know her roots and that she has a loving family waiting to connect with her.
