Dr. Asue Ighodalo, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the 2024 Edo State governorship election, has extended his condolences to the Jattu Community in Etsako West Local Government Area following a devastating fire that razed the town’s market overnight.

In a statement issued on Friday by the Team Asue Media Organization (TAMO) and signed by its coordinator, Erhabor Emokpae, Ighodalo expressed deep sadness over the incident, describing it as a significant loss for the community. “I am deeply saddened to hear about the devastating inferno that razed your market,” Ighodalo said. “The pain of losing goods, belongings, and other prized materials is unimaginable. My heart goes out to each and every one of you as you face this uncertain and challenging time.”

The former Sterling Bank chairman lauded the resilience of the Jattu Community, referencing their ability to overcome past tragedies such as the windstorm six months ago that claimed lives and uprooted century-old trees. He urged the community to remain hopeful and united as they begin the process of recovery. “Lean on each other, share your stories, and find solace in the collective spirit that defines Jattu. Together, we can rebuild and restore what has been damaged,” Ighodalo stated, pledging his solidarity and readiness to support rebuilding efforts.
