The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the upcoming September 21 governorship election in Edo State, Dr. Asue Ighodalo, has made a strong commitment to addressing the pressing issue of out-of-school children in the state.
Speaking during a Town Hall Meeting with indigenes of Edo State residing in New York and its surrounding areas on Friday, Ighodalo emphasized his resolve to ensure that children who have been excluded from the education system are brought back into classrooms.
“We will ensure that our out-of-school children are taken back into classroom learning,” Ighodalo assured the audience, stressing that education would be a top priority under his leadership. He further pledged that the state’s curriculum would undergo regular reviews and improvements, aimed at boosting the quality of education.
As part of his plans to reform the education sector, Ighodalo also promised to enhance learning facilities across the state, aligning them with the Edo Best program—a widely lauded initiative to improve education in Edo State. He expressed his confidence that through these reforms, the state would witness a significant increase in educational outcomes and opportunities for its young population.
