The Edo State governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the September 21, 2024 gubernatorial election, Dr. Asue Ighodalo, has called on the people of Edo State to remain calm as the journey to reclaim the stolen mandate is on course.

Speaking to newsmen on Wednesday shortly after the Edo State governorship election tribunal adjourned its proceeding, Ighodalo said “So far so good today, we are glad with how things have gone, and we are certain how things will be done as regards to the documents.
“But I want to use this opportunity to truly thank the people of Edo State for having some out in massive numbers, in the rain, in the difficulties to vote for us on 21st September, and for keeping fate and staying true with us, and for keeping up hope, and then being very calm in the face of intimidation and harassment in the last three months.

“They stayed faithful and they stayed with us on strong hope and I am truly thankful to them. We strongly believe that the judiciary will do the right thing and we are looking forward to the outcome of the tribunal proceedings.
I know our people are going through a lot of hardship, but I just asked them to stay strong and to stay prayerful. There are many things that have been thrown at us by way of distractions off the ball. Eyes on the ball. The ball of ensuring that we go through the tribunal proceedings effectively and at the end of the day reclaim our mandate”.
