Former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chief Tom Ikimi, also known as the Oduma of Igueben, former Chief of Staff to former president Goodluck Ebelle Jonathan, Mike Oghiadomhe, former Speaker, Edo State House of Assembly, Friday Itulah, Senator Clifford Ordia, one term former chairman of Esan North East Local Government council, John Yakubu and Current House of Representatives member, Marcus Onubun, immediate past state secretary of the PDP and former senatorial aspirant Hon Barr Felix Omi Imoisili, Chief Hon Joe Edionwele. Former member, house representative, for Esan central/esan west/Igueben fed constituency, today, graced the official declaration of Asue Ighodalo, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in Benin City.
Others are, Senator Odion Ugbesia, Akhere Ugbesia, Omon Ezemon, Levis Aigbogun, Esemwengie Ero, Kabiru Adjoto, Maria Edeko, Henry Duke Tenebe, Regina Oviasu, Mike Ehima, Senator Roland Owie and other notable bigwigs of the party across the length and breadth of the state.
Speaking, Chief Tom Ikimi, who narrated how the leaders from Edo Central mounted pressure on other aspirants to step down for Asue Ighodalo, thanked those who advised them that if the region must produce the next governor of the state, they must zero on one person.
He said based on that candid advice, they have decided to anoint Asue Ighodalo.
Ikimi said for several years, Edo Central has not produced a governor and that, they will not allow this golden opportunity to slide by and that, that is why Asue is the best bet for them.
For Friday Itulah, he said that he has aligned himself with the agenda of the region producing the next governor and sues that all hands must be on deck to achieve that dream.
Speaking for the Edo North Senatorial District, former Chief of Staff to former president Goodluck Ebelle Jonathan, Mike Oghiadomhe said the region believes in equity and justice in every political office.
He said the PDP Constitution has space for rotation and zoning.
Speaking for the Edo South senatorial district, Dickson Imasogie, said Asue Ighodalo has been able to unite the party adding that personally, he has endorsed him.
Other aspirants who jettisoned their governorship ambition for Asue Ighodalo to sail through, also speak on how they will work tirelessly to ensure that he (Asue Ighodalo) emerges victoriously at the poll.
