Famous for her roles in films such as “Hidden Figures” and “Empire,” black American actress Taraji P. Henson recently expressed her dissatisfaction with the widespread exploitation in the film business.
Taraji Henson voiced her annoyance at Black women being used in the entertainment industry.
The actress expressed her frustration at being used and lamented the identical concerns she has heard from other Black female entertainers.
In a recent appearance with the SiriusXM program, Taraji Henson asserted that she was being paid much less than what was rightly hers.
In her words:
“I’m just tired of working so hard, being gracious at what I do and being paid a fraction of the cost.
“I’m tired of my sisters saying the same thing over and over.
“You get tired. I hear people go, ‘You work a lot.’ The math ain’t mathing, every time I negotiate, it’s like I’m starting from the bottom.”
