The Iranian government, a longstanding critic of Israel, has reacted to the conflict between Israel and Palestine by calling on “Muslim countries” to support Palestine against Israel.
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian made this appeal in a tweet on his official X page on Monday.
In his tweet, he referred to the Israeli government as the “Zionist regime” responsible for the deaths of 260 Palestinians, including 40 children and 11 women, as well as the detention of 5,000 Palestinians in the West Bank.
Amirabdollahian stated, “the people of #Gaza and the West Bank need the support of Muslim countries more than ever before.”
He also mentioned that ongoing attacks, military aggression, and the desecration of the al-Aqsa Mosque were being carried out by the Zionist regime, leading to responses from the resistance.
This statement followed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s video message posted on his official X page on Monday, where he declared that the Israel Defense Force’s military operation against Hamas would be remembered for decades, especially by Israel’s “enemies.”
Netanyahu emphasized that Israel was forced into war after Hamas attacked southern Israel, resulting in civilian casualties, kidnappings, and acts of violence.
Netanyahu further asserted that Israel would win the war against Hamas and that this victory would benefit not only Israel but the entire civilized world standing against barbarism.
