10-man Ivory Coast staged a surprising comeback win in extra time, clinching a 2-1 victory over Mali.

Truth Live News recalls that in their previous knockout match, the hosts secured a win over Senegal through a penalty shootout, while Mali defeated Burkina Faso 2-1.

However in this match monitored by Truth Live News, the first half saw moments of chaos, including a denied penalty appeal for Mali’s Sikou Niakate due to offside and a missed penalty by Adama Traore.

And just before halftime, Ivory Coast’s Odilon Kossouna received a red card for a foul on Lassine Sinayoko.

With a man down, Ivory Coast managed to equalize with an injury-time goal by Simon Adingra after Nene had initially given Mali the lead with a stunning strike from 30 yards out.

In extra time, Oumar Diakite delivered the decisive blow, securing victory for Ivory Coast.

Unfortunately for the recipient of the Man of the Match award, he will sit out the next match against DR Congo after receiving his second yellow card for taking off his jersey while jubilating his late match winning goal, Truth Live News can confirm.
