The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has registered a total of 420,674 candidates for the 2025/2026 exams as of Monday afternoon.

This was disclosed by Professor Is-haq Oloyede, the Registrar of JAMB, after his monitoring visits to some Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers in Ilorin.

According to Professor Oloyede, 32,435 candidates have registered for the exams, while 124,632 candidates have signed up for the mock exams, with 331 candidates undergoing trial testing.

JAMB aims to register two million candidates for the exams.

The Registrar also expressed concern over the number of underaged registrants, which stands at 4,997 as of Monday afternoon.

He criticized parents who push their children to take the exams at a young age, stating that they are misdirecting their children and using their early education to boost their own credentials.

To address this issue, JAMB requires underaged candidates to sign an indemnity form, undertaking to meet the required academic standards or face sanctions.

Additionally, six individuals from various institutions have been blacklisted for life due to alleged exam malpractice.

One senior university official is being prosecuted, while others are under investigation.

Professor Oloyede expressed satisfaction with the registration exercise, stating that it is going smoothly in all centers.

He commended the staff, CBT centers, and security agencies for their assistance.
