The Task Force on Petroleum products in Jigawa State has warned filling stations against adjusting their pump to short-change customers and also unnecessary price increase.

The Chairman, Col. Muhd Alhassan (Rtd) who gave the warning during an inspection visit to some petrol stations in Dutse, the state capital, said the committee would not hesitate to take drastic measures against any filling station found to be tampering with its pump.

“Even though we have no control over prices, we have a stake in ensuring that petrol stations do not tamper with their pumps,” he said.

The chairman said the committee has identified some filling stations that are in the habit of readjusting their pumps.

He noted the inspection exercise would be extended to all the nooks and crannies of the state.
