A court ruling has led to the declaration of a rerun in the Kaduna Gubernatorial election petition. The election in Kaduna was deemed inconclusive by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and they have decided to conduct a new election in seven wards across four Local Government Areas (LGAs). This decision was reached by the justices in a split 2:1 verdict.

In the initial election results, Senator Sani emerged as the victor, securing a total of 730,001 votes. He narrowly defeated his closest competitor, Ashiru, who garnered 719,196 votes. Notably, the Labour Party (LP) candidate, Jonathan Asake, trailed behind with a significant gap, receiving 58,283 votes. Meanwhile, Suleiman Hunkuyi of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) secured 21,405 votes.
