Founder, DAAR Communications Plc, High Chief Raymond Dokpesi, has been released after questioning by security in London after he was detained at the London Heathrow airport on Sunday.

Though details of the said arrest has been sketchy, London sources told Truthlive News that the Nigerian media Mogul may have been questioned in connection with the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

Atiku, by the way, is reported to be in London for various speculative reasons.

While his camp in Nigeria says that he is in UK to consult with government on his political ambition, other say that Atiku is in London for medical reasons at the recommendation of his physicians in Dubai where the Nigerian politician lives and direct his political affairs in the West African country from.

Still, others, including the newspapers offshore sources insists that Atiku is in London to answer to some routine inquiries by security agencies on alleged cross border money laundering charges.

Atiku, as former vice president of Nigeria, carries a diplomatic passport so may not be easily extradicted from Dubai like it once happened to two Nigerians; a certain ex governor from a Southern state of Nigeria who later served a jail term in UK and Hush puppy, criminal mastermind of several cyber heists.

But Dokpesi’s DAAR Communication in a response on Monday has been vague on the matter, stating that their boss has been released.

In statement by the media company on Monday, the company explains that Dokpesi arrived via Frankfurt from Abuja on a Lufthansa airlines flight and was invited off the plane, before other passengers were disembarked.

“Dokpesi was delayed at the airport for some hours before his passport was stamped and he was cleared by British Immigration officials for entry into the country.

“His visit to the United Kingdom is not unconnected to the invitation of the Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar by the British government to share perspectives on issues around the 2023 presidential elections.

“The media founder is the Deputy Director-General, Technical & Systems of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council.

“Chief Dokpesi wishes to thank all for their outpour of love, prayers and support following the news of the incident and to reassure that he is hale and hearty,” the company statement read.
