Former Minister of Science and Technology and former Abia State governor, Chief Ogbonnaya Onu is dead.
He died at the age of 72.
It was said that Onu died in an Abuja hospital after battling with stroke.
He was a lecturer at University of Port Harcourt before he made his way into politics .
He was elected governor in 1992 and served till the late Sani Abacha overthrew Ernest Shonekan’s administration in 1994.
Onu has been in politics and has also made move to run for Presidency.
He resigned as minister of Science and Technology in the Buhari administration to contest the presidential primaries in 2022.
