It has been revealed that the Governor of Rivers State, Ezenwo Nyesom Wike has no hand in the purported court case against the Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Mr. Atiku Abubakar

The news went viral on Thursday that the Governor and some party members have filed a lawsuit at an Abuja high court over the irregularities in the May 28 PDP convention which produced Atiku Abubakar as the party candidate.

Truthlive.net had made telephone calls to its sources at the Rivers State government house to authenticate the story but a close aide to the governor who promised to confirm from the Governor and revert actually kept to his promise as he responded Friday morning to debunk the story as untrue.

The source who pleaded for anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the press on the issue, however, informed our correspondent that Gov Wike would address the press over the court issue later this weekend.

He said: “The story is not true, I was able to speak with His Excellency, Ezenwo Nyesom Wike this morning and he confirmed to me that he was not aware of it and doesn’t know the such name as Prince Michael Newgent Ekamon who is said to have taken Atiku and PDP to court on behalf of H.E Nyesom Wike”.

“The truth is, our amiable governor is busy with projects commissioning and flagging off for the good people of Rivers state, delivering on his promises to his people, and has nothing to do with any court case against the PDP or Atiku, at least for now.”

On the issue of reconciliation with Atiku, our source said: “H.E Nyesom Wike has no issues, he is always ready for peace for his love for the party, but the candidate knows what to do for everyone to work together as a team, but if he refuses to do the needful, we will be watching from Port Harcourt as things unfold”.
