Kevin McCarthy, the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives has been impeached.
It is the first time in US history that a House Speaker will be removed from seat. The mutiny, led by Conservative hardliner, Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., roiled the House, according to USA Today.
According to the report, a number of hard right lawmakers supported the resolution to remove McCarthy, which was referred to as “a motion to vacate.” This motion was met with a voice of fury by the estranged speaker.
The lawmakers expressed disdain at McCarthy for cooperating with Democrats to avoid a government shutdown.
There has been growing criticism about the massive spending by US government outside the United States, particularly funding of Ukraine War against Russia, which vastly outweighs the needs of American citizens.
According to them, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has been a willing tool for Joe Biden’s Republican wasteful expenditures.
