The Governor of Kano State, Malam Kabir Abba Yusuf, and his Jigawa State counterpart, Alhaji Umar Namadi, on Sunday joined an array of dignitaries to pay their last respects to Hajiya Safara’u Umar Radda, the late mother of Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda.
The solemn burial rites were conducted at Radda Village in Charanchi Local Government Area, attracting a high-profile gathering of government officials, traditional rulers, and political stakeholders.
Among those present were Katsina State Deputy Governor, Mallam Faruq Lawal Jobe; Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Nasir Yahaya Daura, who arrived with legislators; Secretary to the State Government, Barrister Abdullahi Garba Faskari; members of the State Executive Council; and Head of Civil Service, Alhaji Falaliu Bawale.
Former Deputy Governor of Katsina State, Tukur Ahmed Jikamshi; Executive Director of Agricultural Services at Sokoto Rima River Basin Development Authority, Alhaji Muntaka Badaru Jikamshi; and revered traditional rulers, including the Emirs of Katsina and Daura, Alhaji Abdulmumini Kabir Usman and Alhaji Faruq Umar Faruq, respectively, also graced the event.
The funeral prayer, led by the Chief Imam of Katsina Central Mosque, Imam Gambo Mustapha, drew a large crowd of sympathizers, who fervently prayed for Allah’s mercy upon the departed soul and for her to be granted Aljannatul Firdaus.
The State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Sani Aliyu, council chairmen, district heads, and other prominent figures also participated in the solemn occasion, expressing their condolences to Governor Radda and his family.
