The Katsina State Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs has announced the successful rescue of 10 kidnapped victims, including six women and four men, by joint security operatives.
The victims were abducted by armed bandits from Kiroro, Kabbi, and Dogon Marke communities in Musawa Local Government Area on Tuesday.
A joint operation was launched by the Katsina State Community Watch Corps and the Nigeria Police Force on April 8, 2025, at approximately 10:00 PM, based on credible intelligence from community members.
The operation resulted in the killing of one bandit and the safe rescue of all kidnapped victims, who have since been reunited with their families.
The Katsina State Government has commended the bravery and professionalism of the security operatives involved in the rescue mission.
The Governor Dikko Radda’s administration reiterated its commitment to protecting citizens from criminal elements and assured that it will continue to deploy necessary resources to ensure safety and security across the state.
The government, however, urged citizens to provide timely and credible information to security agencies, emphasizing the importance of community cooperation in fighting banditry and kidnapping.
