With the Kogi state gubernatorial elections just about a month away, military task force on Saturday arrested suspected APC thugs for shooting, killing fellow thugs in broad daylight in Anyigba, Dekina Local government area of the state.
According to a source who spoke with Truth Live News, trouble started after the state governor, Yahaya Bello who was on transit from Ankpa to Lokoja stopped over in Anyigba to see some party chieftains.
The source said, the governor had given the thugs some money which resulted in disagreement on the sharing formula.
“A shootout ensued between the thugs leading to the death of two persons”, the source said.
Following the incident, the army stormed the area, disarmed and captured a number of the assailants.
Almost on daily basis, sporadic gunshots are heard within Anyigba which has become a hub for thugs who harass and torment residents during elections.
