The All Progressives Congress (APC) Candidate for Ilorin West/Asa Federal Constituency, Mallam Muktar Tolani Shagaya has honored by getting the Kwara United Football Fans Award.
He was awarded alongside the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, the Kwara Central Senatorial Candidate, Mallam Soliu Mustapha, and the convener of Solidarity for Good Governance, Comrade AbdulMajeed Abdulwahab Temidire (Aburo Gomina), amongst others.
In his speech, Shagaya lauded the Kwara Governor as an exemplary sports lover while encouraging the management and fans to uphold steadfastness and undying commitment to the development of the state’s sports sector.
“Football is more than just a game; it teaches lessons that the players carry with them long after they’ve hung up their cleats.
“Teamwork, discipline, perseverance, goal-setting, handling success and failure, time management, and keeping fit.
“It is no longer a news to the world that Kwara United playing continental football this year, after about 11 years.
“I am using this opportunity to congratulate the Harmony Boys, management and fans and the state government as the investment in sporting sector yields positive outcome.
