Liverpool snatched a dramatic 2-1 victory at Crystal Palace, moving top of the Premier League thanks to a late winner from Harvey Elliott and a landmark 200th goal for Mohamed Salah.
Despite dominating the first half, Liverpool found themselves behind to a Jean-Philippe Mateta penalty awarded by VAR after the restart.
The momentum shifted when Palace’s Jordan Ayew received a second yellow card on 75 minutes. A minute later, Salah equalized with a deflected strike, etching his name into Liverpool history as the fifth player to reach 200 goals for the club.
Energized by the equalizer, Liverpool pressed for the winner. It came in stoppage time through substitute Elliott, who fired a stunning long-range shot past the Palace goalkeeper.
The win sees Liverpool climb above Arsenal, who face Aston Villa later today. Palace remain comfortably positioned in 14th, seven points above the relegation zone.
