…As Party Faithful Say No Vacancy In Osadebe Avenue

Lucky Obukohwo, Reporting

Benin City, the Edo State capital was momentarily shutdown by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for its darling governorship candidate, Asue Ighodalo and his running mate, Osarodion Ogie ahead of the the September 21 governorship election in the state.

The party faithful in their thousands clad in the party’s regalia took over the popular Oba Ovoramwen Square also known as the Ring Road or King Square, grounding the traffic to a halt.

Addressing the mammoth crowd at the premises of the Edo State House of Assembly, the governorship candidate of the party, Asue Ighodalo in company of his running mate in an open van, thanked the party faithful for coming out in their large numbers despite the short notice for the rally.

He urged the party faithful to come out in their numbers on September 21 to cast their votes for him.

Ighodalo told them it is one thing for them to cast their votes and it is another thing to ensure that they monitor their votes until the result is being counted and the winner is declared.

The governorship candidate lamented the unprecedented hardship the federal ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has brought upon the Nigerian populace maintaining that, the act must be corrected in Edo State by voting for him and his running mate in the forthcoming governorship election in the state.

Speaking at the rally also one of the party’s faithful who puts all his activities for the day on hold, Mr. John Uhunmwangho who is the Public Relations Officer of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), he said the youths of the state have decided to come out to join other members of the party to tell other political parties in the state that there is no vacancy at the Osadebe Avenue and that the only person that they are looking for, is Asue Ighodalo and Osarodion Ogie

For another party faithful, Mr. Daniel Joshua, the Vice Chairman of Ogida Park, he said the light has come to the state and that by the grace of God Almighty, Asue Ighodalo is the governor of the state.
