Makinde Gifts Students’ Union Bodies 28 Buses

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has delivered on his promise by presenting 28 brand new eighteen-seater buses to students of tertiary institutions across campuses and student bodies in the state.

This gesture represents a significant stride in the governor’s commitment to enhancing transportation and facilitating access to education for students in Oyo State.

Truth Live News correspondent who was present at the event reports that the development is a fulfillment of Governor Makinde’s pledge made during the campaign period to provide buses for student transportation.

Hon. Victor Olojede, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Student Affairs, lauded Governor Makinde for this unprecedented achievement, noting that no governor in Nigeria’s history has undertaken such a massive gesture of donating 28 buses to tertiary institutions and student bodies simultaneously.

Olojede also urged the governor to address other student-related concerns, including bursary payments, stressing the importance of prompt attention to ensure the welfare and academic success of students across the state.

He however expressed appreciation to Governor Makinde for promptly disbursing bursaries to law students in the state, setting a commendable precedent for governance and student support.

The presentation ceremony took place at the Oyo State Government Secretariat in Agodi, Ibadan, and witnessed the presence of dignitaries, including the Deputy Governor, Barr. Bayo Lawal; the Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Debo Ogundoyin; the Deputy Chief of Staff, Hon. Fola Oyekunle; the Secretary to the State Government, and other government officials.
