Man Shoots His Brother Over Electricity Bill In Anambra

Peter Orji, a middle aged man from Uruagu in Nnewi local government area of Anambra state has killed his elder Godwin Orji, after an argument which ensued between them over an electricity bill.

Peter who surrendered himself to the police, got enraged during the argument and went inside his apartment to get his gun, which he used to shoot his brother dead.

According to eye witnesses,  Peter and his deceased brother both live in their family compound in Okpunoeze community in Uruagu. Peter’s electricity supply was disconnected when he refused to pay his bill of N1500 and this caused an argument between him and his brother.

The argument got heated and the enraged Peter took his gun and killed his brother. Thereafter, he ran to the nearest police station where he reported himself, from fear of being mobbed.

However, eye witnesses added that both siblings have long been at loggerheads over a family land.

The State Police Public Relations Officer DSP Ikenga Tochukwu while confirming the incident said the suspect turned himself in to the police and the matter has been transferred to the state CID for further investigation.
