Argentina captain Lionel Messi said he’s confident about his team’s chances of winning the 2024 Copa America title.
In an interview with ESPN Brasil, Messi noted that Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, and Uruguay are also strong contenders for the trophy, but said, “Argentina is always a favorite.”
“We are a top contender, just like Brazil, and maybe even more so in this Copa America.
“However, the South American teams are very strong right now. Uruguay, Colombia, and Ecuador are all formidable opponents.
“It will be a tough tournament, but I think it’ll be a closely contested Copa America,” Messi dished out.
