A police sergeant has been reportedly found dead in the Forest in Akamkpa LGA, Cross River State.
He is identified as Sergeant Denis Mofam, from Ekajuk community in Ogoja, Northern Senatorial District, south south Nigeria.
Sergeant Mofam who is said to be a father of three went missing on Sunday 7th of May 2023.
He was posted to the Quarfall Police post under Akamkpa police Division.
According to CrossRiverWatch, investigation revealed he was killed at Camp 3, forest, Mfamosing village in Akamkpa.
Mofam was killed on his way back to the house from work on Sunday and onThursday 11th of May, 2023, his corpse was found with several machete cuts around his neck and body with his motorcycle burnt to ashes.
Meanwhile, at the time of filing this report, the police authorities were yet to comment on the incident.
