Super Eagles Striker, Terem Moffi has magnanimously donated the sum of N1 million and twenty five football boots to the Pelican Stars Football Club in Calabar.
Again he has donated a repleca Jersey of his club to the commissioner and permanent secretary of the Cross River State Ministry of Sports Development.
Moffi made the donation when he paid a courtesy visit to the Ministry of Sports Development in Cross River State on Wednesday May 29, 2024.
Terem Igobor Moffi MON born 25 May 1999 is a Nigerian professional footballer who plays as a striker for Ligue 1 club Nice and the Nigeria.
Confirmed news group on Friday made this available where Truth Live News gathered that the Ogoja born Super Eagles Striker, Terem Moffi was accompanied on the visit by his father Mr. Leo Moffi.
For instance, the inform source stated that the super Eagles Striker was in Calabar to spend the holiday with his family.
He further highlighted more reasons for his visit as a place where he started his football career.
He said he lived in Calabar stadium hostel as a young player who then was playing for Ysfon Academy and Diamond stars football club.
Moffi therefore, commended the state Commissioner for sports development Mrs. Agnes Atsu for the warm reception offered him and his family.
As a result, he promised partnership with the ministry to further improve sporting activities in the state.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner for sports development in the State, Mrs. Agnes Atsu, on of the behalf Governor, welcomed the Cross River born soccer star to her office.
While she applauded his father Mr. Leo Moffi, she also mentioned that Terrem’s father played for Enugu rangers and Calabar Rovers football clubs.
She commended him for his outstanding contributions to football development in the State.
She said especially with nurturing his Son to continue in his career of playing football,
“Today your son is making Cross River State proud as a global soccer star from Ogoja Local Government Area, Northern Senatorial District of the State,” she said.
The commissioner announced that the Super Eagles Striker is now a football ambassador of the state.
Also, she disclosed plans to honour him and other Cross River indigenous athletes who are making the State proud.
She said the Governor is kin about developing football as one of the sporting activities that can empower and unify young people.
Again, Truth Live News learned that the special adviser to the Governor on sports development- Hon. Ekanem Ekpenyong, the permanent secretary of the ministry – Mr. Samuel Egbala, and the director of sports commission -Mr. Moses Agbor, attended the event.
Others in attendance include Chairman Pelican Stars FC – Mr.Sam Jimbo, Secretary of CRSFA-Mr. Talabi Oke, Vice Chairman of the State football association – Mr. Gregory Abang, and Dr Godwin Odey.
